Senior Process Engineer
Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic Process Engineer, with experience in PSV’s, P&ID’s and upstream,
midstream oil and gas facilities. You will be responsible for process calculations, simulations, and
drawing preparations, ensuring that deliverables align with client expectations. Key responsibilities
include interpreting client design requirements and producing detailed process deliverables such
as instrumentation diagrams and equipment sizing. This role involves collaborating across multiple
disciplines to translate client needs into effective process solutions that support the overall design
objectives and working with teams onsite and online.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for process engineering and design including process simulations, equipment sizing
and specification, drafting of piping and instrumentation diagrams, developing engineering
standards and performing process engineering consulting for O&G clients
• Participate in PSM activities for facilities including maintaining facility drawings and resolving PHA
action items
• Develop refinery improvement projects, from conception through start-up, to insure both short-
and long-term viability of the refinery
• Develop process simulation models for existing and proposed O&G facilities
• Size and specify equipment and instrumentation for existing and proposed O&G facilities
• Develop block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, and piping and instrumentation diagrams
• Maintain a high level of understanding of departmental design standards, applicable engineering
codes and Halker’s guidelines and standards
• Work with plant operations to troubleshoot existing operational issues
• Perform feasibility studies which include process design evaluation, cost estimating, and
economic analysis
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Chemical Engineering or similar discipline.
PE license a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in oil and gas industry, or similar.
• At least 4 years of experience developing layouts, PSV’s and P&ID’s for upstream multi-well
facilities, saltwater disposals and compressor stations.
• Experience in midstream and upstream projects.
• Working knowledge of simulation software including: HYSYS, ProMax, VMGSim, ProTreat.
• Understanding of multiphase separation, oil distillation theory, chemical and physical
absorption and absorption concepts, hydraulic design including multi-phase flow, and how
to simulate these processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively and with professional acumen.
• Self-starter and resourceful.
Compensation and Benefits:
• Compensation (i.e. Base Salary) is negotiable and shall be offered commensurate with
experience.
• Remote with availability to travel to the headquarters in Denver.
