Lead Process Engineer – Centennial, CO

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for process engineering and design including process simulations, equipment sizing and specification, drafting of piping and instrumentation diagrams, developing engineering standards and performing process engineering consulting for O&G clients
  • Participate in PSM activities for facilities including maintaining facility drawings and resolving PHA action items
  • Lead major plant and pipeline maintenance capital replacement and compliance projects
  • Develop refinery improvement projects, from conception through start-up, to insure both short and long term viability of the refinery
  • Provide technical leadership for process designs from the process engineering group including technical guidance and mentoring
  • Work with clients, contractors, project managers and engineering disciplines to ensure the project execution plan is effective, comprehensive, reasonable and obtainable
  • Assume leadership of a project team as lead engineer and coordinate the design aspects of the projects
  • Develop process simulation models for existing and proposed O&G facilities
  • Size and specify equipment and instrumentation for existing and proposed O&G facilities
  • Develop block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, and piping and instrumentation diagrams
  • Maintain a high level of understanding of departmental design standards, applicable engineering codes and Halker’s guidelines and standards
  • Work with plant operations to troubleshoot existing operational issues
  • Perform feasibility studies which include process design evaluation, cost estimating, and economic analysis

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Ideally 8+ years of experience in oil and gas or closely related industry
  • Extensive experience in midstream and downstream projects
  • Proficient with process simulation software (HYSYS, ProMax, VMGSim, ProTreat)
