EI&C Director – Centennial, CO


The EI&C Director is responsible for managing, overseeing, supporting and helping grow the EI&C department as well as ensuring the successful delivery of projects to our customers. The Director will also have a variety of operational tasks that include quality control, department budget responsibility, personnel management and proposal writing.

The EI&C Director is a management role within Halker Consulting, LLC with both direct reports and accountability to senior leadership. The position reports to the VP of Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overall leadership of the EI&C Department including daily operations, development planning, employee engagement and employee accountability
  • Establish and maintain the technical standards within the EI&C Department
  • Perform reviews to ensure drawing packages are displaying consistency, constructability and following Halker standards
  • Provide training and technical direction necessary to develop department personnel to meet personal goals and client’s requirements
  • Identify staffing needs and work with recruiting to hire top talent
  • Ensure conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company quality assurance (QA) system, policies, and procedures
  • Provides specific EI&C Engineering Subject Matter Expertise
  • Work directly with other directors and project managers to ensure proper project execution and support
  • Responsible for the resource loading of the EI&C department
  • Maintain minimum utilization targets
  • Responsible for managing and directing the technical quality within the EI&C discipline
  • Perform EI&C engineering design, analysis and development of an assigned scope of work and/or specific complex deliverables
  • Develop and maintain standard EI&C practices and procedures
  • Research new engineering ideas resulting in designs which are technically advanced, cost effective and producible
  • Collaborate with business development personnel on technical proposal capabilities and strategize on future pursuits

  • Bring specific technical expertise in an advisory role
  • Possess a broad technical knowledge of the detail design engineering process and all types of control instrumentations
  • Demonstrate consistently high leadership qualities, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, provide direction to staff, and lead design teams
  • Consistently promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of detail electrical, instrumentation & control systems engineering experience in lead roles and/or specialization and 5+ years management experience
  • PE required
